JENNIFER COX

Hello! I’m sure that getting to know me better will help you decide if I am a good fit for you and for us to collaborate in a client-coach capacity. I have worked as a Qualified Mental Health Professional-Community Support Specialist, a Security Officer at Central Management Services (CSM) of the State of Illinois, a UL Certified Operator and Emergency Dispatcher, and I’ve co-owned and co-operated two successful home-based businesses, to name a few. As a Qualified Mental Health Professional [QMHP]-Community Support Specialist [CCS], I assisted clients in identifying their strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences regarding substance abuse and mental illness and participated in the development of a Wellness [treatment or intervention] Plan. I provided services from a holistic perspective, incorporating coaching around the Eight Dimensions of Wellness, with attention to each wellness domain. As a QMHP-CSS, I also supported clients in achieving the goals identified in their Wellness Plans, reviewing the WP with clients as required, and updating goals and objectives as items are achieved or as the client’s aspirations change.

I hold a Master of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling, with a Summa Cum Laude designation (GPA of 3.988), a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (GPA of 3.8), and an Associate in Applied Science in Business Management along with a Certificate of Completion in Supervisory Management. I am a lifetime Member of Delta Kappa, which signifies that I’m a lifetime member of the International Marriage and Family Therapy Honor Society, furthering and complementing the work done by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, the American Family Therapy Academy, and the International Family Therapy Association. I was nominated for the prestigious National Society of Leadership and Success in 2020, which is the largest collegiate leadership honor society in the United States.

The mental health field did not meet my hopes as a person “who wanted to help people find a better life.” I discovered that insurance companies and other third-party payment vendors control the business, requiring diagnoses of mental conditions to get paid and limiting the number of sessions clients can have to be considered “healed.” Most mental health professional organizations at the state level are highly competitive and politically focused. In my experience, it’s not what you know but who you know that matters for becoming a licensed mental health professional. After three trips to the exam office, where I was not allowed to complete my full four hours of testing twice and had to pay over $360 each time I took the test, this proved to me. I am transitioning from a mental health career to life coaching. I began my coaching training through the Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) coaching program at Symbiosis Coaching on December 16, 2024, which is certified by the International Coaching Federation and recognized as the gold standard in the professional life coaching industry. I will complete this certification by early July 2025.

I am part of the sex-positive movement, the LGBTQ+ community, the ethical non-monogamy community, including polyamory, and the burner (Burning Man) community, as well as many other interests I advocate for.

I offer individual sessions, couples' or partners' sessions, and family sessions for those 18 years and older. I offer Relationship Coaching, Spirituality/Spiritual Coaching, Self-Regulation/Self-Direction Coaching, and Trauma Coaching. My email is Insight.LifeWellbeingCoaching@gmail.com, and my phone number is 636-344-9407. My regular business hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 12 pm and 1 pm to 5 pm. I can accommodate different times if scheduling is arranged through me in advance. If you call during my off hours, please leave a message, and I will return your call the next business day or during business hours. Payments can be made through Square POS or Venmo (Jennifer-Cox-681). I look forward to working with you soon.
